01Racha
High in the Caucasus
One of Georgia's smallest and highest wine regions, between Imereti and the Greater Caucasus.
02Khvanchkara
Steep vineyards above the Rioni
Around Ambrolauri the vines climb to 750 metres, on light sandy-clay soils rich in carbonate.
03Mountain vineyards
Warm days. Cool nights.
A long mountain autumn: sugar builds slowly while the acidity stays. That is why Khvanchkara is naturally semi-sweet.
04Two grapes
Alexandrouli and Mujuretuli
Two Georgian varieties on two neighbouring slopes. Khvanchkara has always been made from both.
05The blend
Two grapes. One Khvanchkara.
Warm ruby from Alexandrouli, deep garnet from Mujuretuli, becoming one wine.

06Khvanchkara
Naturally semi-sweet
Born in the mountains of Racha, and sweet only because the mountains made it so.
